Okay so we're possibly way off remit here but f**k it that's the joy of blogs, we can basically do what we want... long as it's good of course. This is indeed set to be a good night by the looks of things. Probably most enticing for us are The Correspondents who we've played with a couple of times over the last year or so. Mixing up Swing era steeze with Hip-hop swagga and a touch of Drum N Bass Charleston, these fellas are some of the most fun you can have in a dance as long as you leave your serious hat at home and let loose a little bit. Add to the line up some of the filthiest funkalicious Fidget / Electro courtesy of 2 Bit Thugs, XFM favourite’s The London Punks and a man with tunes even bigger than his hairdo (which is pretty massive), Benji Boko who can count DJ Yoda, Nightmares on Wax and Faithless amongst his fan base and you have what should shape up to be a flavoursome night of fun indeed. In the last 20 minutes since I got hold of a bunch of 2 Bit Thugs remixes they are very quickly becoming one of my favourite remix crews. I’m finding it increasingly difficult to type this cos all I want to do is jump on the table and wave the cat in the air like I just don’t care. These tunes are like a tractor with bad suspension, big bouncing beasts flinging dirt everywhere as they go and not stopping for anyone foolish enough to get in their way. Packed to the brim with funk, and basslines like a laser lasso, they’ve put their mark on such classics as It’s Like That by Run DMC, Cypress Hill’s Insane In The Brain and the B'more meets Miami in London re-rub of 2 Live Crew’s Party. This track here doesn’t seem to be a remix as such, and to be honest it’s one of the best from the lot. If this doesn’t get a dancefloor packed, then the club’s not open yet.
