WE ARE 3 AND WE HAVE SOME FRIENDS AND FAMILY COMING OVER FOR A CELEBRATION!

STAGGA & MONKY
Undoubtedly the leading force of Bass music in Wales and a killer combo since their Optimas Prime days. Also both card carrying members of the Chrome Kids family.

Friday 12th August: Stagga + Monky - The Chillski by cardiffartsinstitute

LANDSLIDE
Been a little quiet for a while but now based here in Cardiff, the original Fwd>> Resident is back with a stunning new soulful, bass heavy album called ‘Peak’ which drops very soon.

Friday 12th August: Landslide - World Keeps Spining by cardiffartsinstitute

ITAL LION
One of the founding fathers of the dance music scene in Cardiff especially for the Dubstep / 2Step generation. Ever evolving and ever progressing, he’s still one of the best in the city.

Friday 12th August: Ital Lion - Free Africa by cardiffartsinstitute

RATCATCHER
Since riding solo from the CRST crew, the artist formerly known as Rodski has pursued his premier love of House to great achievement, with some of the best sets / tunes we’ve heard.

Friday 12th August: Ratcatcher - Music Maker by cardiffartsinstitute

MR HEALAN
Not necessarily a newcomer to the scene but definitely making a lot of noise right now after reinventing himself using updated, forward thinking Electronic parts, like a Cyber(bad)man.

Friday 12th August: Mr Healan - Youngstar's by cardiffartsinstitute

Our boy Mikee Woo has been putting in work on the Cardiff club scene for time now and has just set up a new Tuesday night at Buffalo called Signature that is set to make us very happy. This Tuesday coming (1st June) he's got New York Future Garage master Falty DL in the place so we've been busting out his tracks full volume here at Chrome Mansions to get us over hyped. Plus there's support from Don Leisure, Mr Healan and Paul B so looks like the Bank Holiday weekend has just been extended to Wednesday.

Mikee's mash up crew Astrosnooze have also just dropped a new selection of hybrid floor fillers. We gave you their fantastic Martyn / Empire Of The Sun blend a while back but here's a couple of our favourites, or you can grab the whole album here.

Okay so we're possibly way off remit here but f**k it that's the joy of blogs, we can basically do what we want... long as it's good of course. This is indeed set to be a good night by the looks of things. Probably most enticing for us are The Correspondents who we've played with a couple of times over the last year or so. Mixing up Swing era steeze with Hip-hop swagga and a touch of Drum N Bass Charleston, these fellas are some of the most fun you can have in a dance as long as you leave your serious hat at home and let loose a little bit. Add to the line up some of the filthiest funkalicious Fidget / Electro courtesy of 2 Bit Thugs, XFM favourite’s The London Punks and a man with tunes even bigger than his hairdo (which is pretty massive), Benji Boko who can count DJ Yoda, Nightmares on Wax and Faithless amongst his fan base and you have what should shape up to be a flavoursome night of fun indeed. Here's the full details and a tune from our favourite Thirties throwbacks...

Been a while since we had any B'more on the blog so it's about time we remedied the situation. XLR8R.com just gave us a heads up on their latest podcast from the Chavy Boys Of London. A Baltimore 'supergroup' consisting of Scottie B, Shawn Caesar (co-founders of Unruly Records) and King Tutt. Not quite sure where the name comes in, sounds more like a Bassline crew to me, but who cares. This is a damned fine mix.

You can catch the various members of Chrome Kids across the city of Cardiff on New Years Eve this year but we shall be getting together for a Midnight set at Undertone (aka The Basement) for Stus Party who have brought back their favourite Fin, Rico Tubbs who has absolutely smashed it every time he's touched down at their parties. Also on the bill are the killer combo Chesus & Rodski who have been getting major play since we first told you about them a few months back. We've got a fair few things to share with you but they'll keep until the New Year, see you then and wherever you are make it BIG.

I shall hopefully be reaching down to catch the last day of Notting Hill Carnival on Monday but for those who want to start early then I’d suggest heading to Man Make Music down at the Rhythm Factory over the other side of London for their annual carnival party, this time featuring two stalwarts of the bass community Glasgow Glitchmeister Rustie and B’more UK Ambassador Jackmaster.

Support comes from grime crew Man Scandalous Unlimited and resident DJs Sketchy and Another Amit.

Here’s a quick Dubstep mini mix from Another Amit consisting mainly of hyperdub

Another Amit - MMM Dubstep Mix

You can also download some Jackmaster mixes from his Myspace page

Whilst Rustie has just posted a new track Jagz The Smack on his page.

Krueger Magazine launch their new night in Cardiff tomorrow and have promised us that amongst the wanky rocked out Electro will be enough treats to keep us Chrome Kids happy. Their first night includes live sets from The Deathset and So So Modern but they're booking wishlist includes the likes of Cadence Weapon, Chrome Hoof and Chromeo (the last two might not normally find their way onto these pages but get extra points for their names - look out for a Chrome Hoof interview hopefully coming soon.)

They also have some damned fine residents who shall be armed with a bag full of Electro, Electronica, Hip-Hop, Baltimore Club and Disco House. Mac 3000, a regular at Club Motherfucker and Deadly Rhythm in London plus Cardiff's own party starters - Skinny White Boys. Expect the likes of Passions, Drums of Death and Evils too.

Tell The Police The Truth is every Thursday at Clwb Ifor Bach in Cardiff, kicking off tomorrow (14th of August).

Here's a proper little mix from Mac 3000
