Our boy Moneyshot just hit us with this ill old skool Electrofied reworking of an E40 classic.

In his latest selections iamxl harks back to the days when he used to make mix tapes with two cassette decks, have Boyz N The Hood on repeat and upset his parents by blasting Gangsta rap at full volume. These cheeky little Electro refixes of some Hip-hop classics from the Vancouver veteran bubble along nicely enough with the Ice T and Too Short mixes but for us it’s all about the King T and Run DMC remixes that get just that extra bit dirtier and are aimed firmly at making sure those feet are on the floor and hands are up in the air.

Spoek from South African electro rhymers Playdoe just dropped us a copy of his new mix which he originally posted up on his blog a couple of days back. He mixes up some of the fresh new South African Kwaito artists with some classic old skool House / Techno and a few new tracks from UK House producer Geeneus. Killer.

He also sent us a killer new Playdoe track called The Bombs, it's an interpretation of an Afrobeat track by Seun Kuti (Fela Kuti's youngest...as far as they know) and it is huge... however we can't post it here yet so you're gonna have to tune in to us on BBC Radio 1 next Wednesday when we cover the BBC Introducing in Wales show for Bethan Elfyn. After a fantastic slew of phat remixes, one of LA’s chief beat-scenesters Troublemaker finally announces his new album of original material The Maestro. The first single of which features rhyming from Baby Cashtrid, who lends the track an almost old skool Roxanne Shante flavor but with her feet planted firmly in the future.
