Moduloktopus was quite possibly our favourite Bass music producer of last year with more killer bootlegs then we could keep up with, mixing up Grime, Trap, Dubstep, Drum N Bass, Jungle and Juke influences but managing to make it sound more soulful and exciting than many of the others in those fields. Just saw a Tweet from Kastle saying that Bodhi's new Justin Timberlake booty has been smashing up SXSW. Exciting news, somebody invite them over for next year! Grab yourselves a copy if you don't have it already.

For all those of you snowed in at the moment or simply can't move cos you stuffed yourselves too much over Christmas, here's a bumper blog post of new music that should see your speakers through to the new year in fine style.


First up, if you haven't picked up a copy of the Stagga single 'Genik Riddim' yet, get involved! The track featuring Skamma & Joe Blow from Squid Ninjaz is beastly and the release carries killer remixes from Starkey, Distal and HavocNdeed. Not for the faint hearted though, this is definitely on the grimier side. Here's a copy of the Starkey Remix (Radio Version just in case you want to play it to your mum or jam it on the airwaves).

Next up is a fresh bootie from our boy Parker. as expected he's smashed it again with a beefed up Glitch hop take on a funk / soul club classic. Been jamming the remix and 'tribute' version of Cassie's 'Skydiver' album hard recently and didn't even realise it's been given away as a free download. Some incredible Future Garage, Post-step, Glitch hop type remixes from the likes of Brackles, Altered Native and The Blessings. We've posted a couple of Kill Light tracks up here before but pretty sure we haven't put this one up yet. It's from their new EP on Black Butter Records and is a great fusion of deep tribal Future Garage vibes and more jump up Funky-esque flavours. Foreign Beggars have been killing it this year and their Dented Records label continues to drop top quslity Hip-hop from their extended family also. The latest release is the Brainstorm Mixtape from LDZ (London Zoo) and is probably the best from the crew yet. To be honest we generally check for the guest spots which as always here includes dope spitters such as Dubbledge and Stig but this stands up the whole way through despite being rather too lengthy at 24 tracks.

Bossasaurus have been on our radar for a while but they have just dropped their first official album and by jove I think they've got it. Thoughtful journeys off the beaten track, epic journeys in space and funk excursions into the future. An all round winner for any fans of Glitch hop, Future Boogie or Instrumental Beats in general and all for free from their Bandcamp page.

Due to the crazy last drops of summer, we've been shamefully sitting on this remix of the Deftones track Prince from the big bad Bassnectar camp for a little while. We have however, been moshing out hard to it since then, so thought it only fair to share it with those of you yet to pick it up. As with the CLAW remix of Change, it seems the Californian rock mongers suit the heavier side of Dubstep perfectly. Perhaps a new direction for their next album is due, there's certainly space for more Rockstep tracks.



Speaking of Bassnectar, keep an eye out for the new EP dropping on October 19th, with 6 brand new songs, plus remixes. Also, Mister Gray from South Florida hit us up with this dope little bootleg mixing up Teach Me How To Dougie by Cali Swag District with Bassnectar's Basshead. It's kinda fun, check it out.

We posted up some amazing new George Lenton tracks recently, however the powers that be over at the DMCA chose to chop them down... twice. However Lenton is coming like a Hydra at the moment and has grown back many more new tracks with extra teeth.

First up is his remix of The Dream, turning an R'n'B smoocher into a filthy crunked up grind fest... and rightly so.

Next is a rather Funkadelic sounding pop tune from the Sleigh Bells which gets stripped down into a low riding minimal steppers track.

And finally, MIA enters a strange paradox as she puts out a track that sounds like a bad Lady Gaga rip off, which is ironic in the fact that Lady Gaga first came out sounding like a bad MIA rip off. Thankfully George manages to restore some of her credibility back with his heavyweight, almost Bhangraesque remix.

Like many young people his age, Rustie has an unhealthy taste in bland saccharin RnB singers. Luckily for him he's using the well founded therapy of creating something good from the bad, or is it rather the opposite and infact he's created something nasty as hell from the nice and sweet? We're not entirely sure whether it's Keyshia, Ke$ha Keisha or even erm Keisha, or some strange hybrid of them all but either way they get a Rhianna style beat down from the Glasweigan baller.

Biscope have been busy on the bootlegs of late helping us reintroduce some forgotten favourites into our Dubstep sets. These ones are more for the bar, or that 6 in the morning sunrise vibe and fall into that beautifully soulful realm the South African duo refer to as Lovestep.

Whilst the Mix N Blend album is still warm in your players, we have yet more Bass packed goodies from Cape Town with these two tracks courtesy of Dubstep duo Biscope, one of whom is Electro producer Richard The Third. We have a bootleg remix of the soul classic Stand By Me that maybe shouldn't work, but it does so well, plus an original Hip-hop tinted dancefloor track that is bound to do damage.

We're most excited about the iminant arrival of the new Hudson Mohawke (where's our promo copy btw?!) and to further get us musically moist we've just been sent these 2 bootlegs which were originally put out as white labels LuckyMe x Wireblock sometime last year. HudMo rampantly rags up some R'n'B bitches, even Biggie couldn't dream up such filth.
