Downright creepy remix of Claire Maguire's already haunting track, 'Paper Thin' from Strange U producer Dr Zygote. Although it hasn't got the space to let the stunning vocals breathe like the original I think the heavier, industrial sounding beats help to underline them even better.

Dr Zygote also released his Grupo Zygote EP with the excellent Black Acre label earlier this month and has an EP on his own Zoot imprint due October 7th. You can grab a free track from the Black Acre EP plus an 'influences' mix below.

The Last Skeptic just sent us this exclusive new version of a track from the super group Mongrel. It's part of a remix album he's currently putting together that will hopefully be dropping later on in the year.

Skeptic's also re-scheduled his Cardiff show with Kashmere and Verb T that fell victim to last months snow chaos. They will now be playing at The Globe on Saturday 25th April.

Not sure if you should really give rappers marks for effort, but if you did then I'd be tempted to offer them up to Asaviour. He generally gets good production, has a good package and appears to work hard at pushing his thing. Only problem is I just don't think he can rap that well. Actually that's not necessarily fair, he can rap, it's just something about his flow, voice, well kinda everything which doesn't sit right with me. To be honest it sounds like he's not putting in enough effort after all. So why bother putting this track up here I hear you ask? Well a) so you can make up your own mind, and b) cos Dubbledge absolutely smashes it once again and IQ does make a bumpin' beat, the two of these things might just have saved this tune, after all I have been known to drop Bad Boy 4 Life at times and Asvaiour isn't quite as bad as P Diddy at least. This is only the promo version with spoilers in it but if you're feeling it then it's worth giving The A Loop Theory album at least a listen when it drops in April.

If any of you are starved by the lack of UK Hip-hop out there at the moment then you could do worse then check out Jyager, whose Encrypted Scriptures drops on 23rd March on Y'N'R. The only one we're really feeling is the track with Foreign Beggars and Kashmere (who's playing at The Globe in Cardiff alongside Verb T and The Last Skeptic on February 7th for all the heads here), but then we kinda got bored of most UK Hip-hop acts a while back (along with everybody else if sales and releases are anything to go by). This isn't gonna resurrect the scene but it might keep some of the die hards happy for a while.
