If you've not yet picked up the Beep Tape from Four Tet, Caribou, and Madvillain collaborator Koushik then you have a few days left to download the whole album for free from the Stones Throw website. 30 tracks deep of short instrumental tracks, the longest coming in at only 1m33secs. Some funky, some glitchy and some rather odd but all a must for connoisseurs of off-key instrumental Hip-hop. So waste no time and head over there before the week is up. Our man Metabeats has been mightily busy of late. As well as the soon to come Sledgehammer Kisses EP with Mudmowth and the new album from his clique Squid Ninjaz for which he's provided a number of beats, and even a few rhymes, he's also been setting dancefloors on fire with the Chesus & Rodski stuff and is working on a new solo album, for which information is scarce but we do know that Elucid makes an appearance or two in there some place and no doubt some of the other Squid Ninjaz and Associated Minds family will find there way in there too.

On top of all this he's found time to drop us this small slice of Dillafied future soul, new beat generation type business. You can grab the wav here or a 320 MP3 below.

Then he agreed to do a review of Lurk On Film's incredible new video from The Incredible Torture Show project. I could tell you about this deep and disturbing new outing, but why not leave it to Jake ... BTW If you're gonna hit him up afterwards, please be nice.

If any of you are starved by the lack of UK Hip-hop out there at the moment then you could do worse then check out Jyager, whose Encrypted Scriptures drops on 23rd March on Y'N'R. The only one we're really feeling is the track with Foreign Beggars and Kashmere (who's playing at The Globe in Cardiff alongside Verb T and The Last Skeptic on February 7th for all the heads here), but then we kinda got bored of most UK Hip-hop acts a while back (along with everybody else if sales and releases are anything to go by). This isn't gonna resurrect the scene but it might keep some of the die hards happy for a while.
