Joy Riding The Eurostarr

Couple of releases just dropped this week that we feel compelled to tell you about.

First is a Disco dusted Electro Funk number from Berlin / Barcelona bass infected mic fiend RQM which gets toughened up for some serious late night dancefloor stomping with the Brain Matters and Bass Weazal mixes whilst Big Dope P drops some booty bouncing Ghettotech on his mix, Filewile gets all deep and techy keeping it fairly minimal and Stereotyp gets deeper and sophisticated still with a Dubstep edge to his Voodoo offering.

Next is something a little different from Mumdance as he hooks up with Brodinski for his latest single on Norman Cook's Southern Fried Records. The sounds are recognisable from his Carnival style party starters but it's a much deeper and twisted stomping affair than we're used to. Our favourite remix choices here come from Zombie Disco Squad, with their minimal tech topped tropical taster and High Rankin whose darkly paced Dubstep mix is what being lost in a Favela at night on Ketamine must kinda feel like.

Here's a teaser showcasing the original & the remixes...

Bloody Relationships

RQM just hit us up with this weighty number that flips U2's Bloody Sunday into a glitched up bass tribute to "that toxic Rock N Roll type of relationship that swings on the extremes and burns out quick." Ironically fitting then that he should send it out between Valentines day and Kurt Cobaine's birthday. It's a track he recorded with Robot Koch for Fritz Radio Berlin back in The Tape vs RQM days. Look out for RQM's upcoming releases on OMG! Records and Exploited.

Packed Lunch

After working with some of our favourite artists such as: Robot Kotch; Jahcoozi; Al Haca; and Mochipet, Barcelona resident RQM finally unleashed his first solo release via Exploited Records last month. It’s called ‘Miss Pacman’ and if you haven’t grabbed it yet then venture over to Beatport now and pick up a copy.

Already being supported by the likes of The Glimmers, Erol Alkan, Missil, Switch, Sinden, Edu K and Z-Trip, the release carries 4 different remixes all of which are good. There’s a Bassline mix from Act Yo Age, a Baile Funk flavoured one from Brazil’s DJ Chernobyl, Oliver $ is on the Electro House tip initially but then gets a bit Dubstep with the Bassjunk edit (which is my personal favourite and hit Number 1 on the Juno Dubstep / Grime chart).

You can listen to a snippet mix of them all here or check the teaser video below

A couple of other Pacman related tunes for you here too. Not sure on the proper name of this Dead Residents track from their forthcoming album so I've just called it Pacman Tune (should be able to put up a proper write up on that release soon)and a classic from Aesop Rock from his Bazooka Tooth album.
