Don't Confuse Her For a Girl She Will Destroy You

Remember that scene in Blade Runner where Daryll Hannah starts flipping out and nearly f**ks Rutger Hauer into oblivion, saving Harrison Ford a shed load of hassle? No nor do we but something tells me that’s what happens in the ‘Ghettozoid Director’s re-cut’ and this is the soundtrack to that very scene. Vangelis would probably be crying into his synthesiser if he heard this... or not. This is driving robo-booty bass music of the highest order and is out next week on One4Ho.

O4H003 Ghettozoid Boy Toy Finyl master by One4Ho

On the flip side evil genius Silverman has taken control of the 'Boy Toy' and has pushed it to the limits so it’s bordering on malfunction. It seems like he’s trying to use it to take over the planet, and he might just succeed.

Ghettozoid - BoyToy (Silverman RMX) by SiLVERMAN

If you're anywhere near the Sarf Larndon area tomorrow night (Saturday 9th April), go buy the One4Ho girls a drink down at the Brixton Bar & Grill. In return they shall play you much good tuneage, seems a fair swap.

Anika - Yang Yang (Video)

We know Anika from her time living in Cardiff, however, knowing her as more of a promoter and general girl about town than as a recording artist, we have to say this new track on Stones Throw (produced by Geoff Barrow fom Portishead) came as something of a suprise. Much props and all the best to her indeed.

Beer Loving Robots

Doshy has been passing us some killer crunkesque tech-step recently from his secret lab in Berlin. We're loving his sound at the moment and seems like the feeling may be mututal as our boys Monkey and Stagga are all up in this new mix from him. Check it out and make sure you hunt down releases from his Robox-Neotech label (such as the latest bleeptastic Who Is Hudson River from Zet). This mix is pretty much what he's playing out at the moment but 'without the rewinds'.

Robot's In Da Skies

Robot Koch is currently sailing the seven seas spreading the gospel of digital bass music to the world, including a stop off at the legendary Low End Theory night in LA on Wednesday. However he dropped anchor long enough to tell us about a new remix EP he has coming out in late February with remixes from Loops Haunt, Flako, Blue Daisy, Shlohmo, Body Language and Phon.o (see below) as well as 2 brand new tracks. So consider yourselves duly warned and make sure you prepare for the coming!

Power Up

Brixton's Genesis Elijah exchanges rhymes with Madog from Berlin crew Z.D.Z. over a techy Dubstep-esque Beezwax riddim on this moody and infectious track off the forthcoming Civil Unrest EP.

Shock-out

The guys over at Berlin label Shockout take the Tropical Bass sound to a new level with their latest release. The Disciples of Dread EP is the sonic equivalent of being at Trinidad Carnival when someone spikes the rum punch with Ketamine and the place is over run by a Haitian Voodoo Gang. Dark, twisted and kinda scary at times but also upbeat, fun filled and refreshing. Tracks come courtesy of: BADXMAN, a relative newcomer to the scene; Breakcore come Dubstep don Cardopusher; and Kid606 who is as hard to categorise as he is to keep up with. Here's a mix with 3 of the featured tracks plus one in full to whet your appetite.

Jazzsteppa - Shamen

jazzsteppa : shamen from Noam Sahar Mamane on Vimeo.

Managed to miss these guys at every festival (those who've read my reviews won't be suprised at that) but I've been assured by friends that they are definitely ones to watch. On the strength of what we've heard so far and this monster of a new track, they're certainly ones to be listening to at least. We've included a 160kbps MP3 below but you can buy the full 320 for just £1 (as well as copies of their album at £5) at their shop.

Big In Berlin

When our bredren Stagga upped and relocated to Berlin there was certainly an emptiness around the corridors of Chrome Mansions, however we knew he was in good company with the likes of Jamie Vex'd, Robot Koch, Doshy and Kid606 all making lots of dope sounding bass heavy bleepy noises in the city. In fact with everything moving generally eastwards in Europe, it makes sense to be active at the gateway and so we're off to join our Chrome amigo for the week and properly check out Berlin. I'm sure there shall be many tales to tell and maybe even a couple of posts, but for now here's a little taster of what's fresh from the city at the moment.

First up we have this beautiful version of People Are Strange by Robot Koch and his wife Mimi de la Boheme.

This isn't for download yet but you will be able to buy a copy soon so no fear. We did however, just pick this gem up from Robot Koch's blog Robots Don't Sleep.

Plus hot off the press is this slick, glitched up reworking of the classic Dabrye & (MF) Doom track with fellow Berlin resident Flako.

Next is a little taster of what Stagga's been cooking up of late too.

(YSI) Stagga - Rub On Ya Bass Binz (limited d/l)

Finally we have two soundboy stomping mixtape selections from Kid 606. The first one he hit us up with the other day, and well the name pretty mich speaks for itself.

Next up is the latest podcast for XLR8R in which he mixes up an epic 47 tracks including Rustie, Drop The Lime and Dexplicit in with plenty of his own twisted productions. Check the full tracklisting or grab the enhanced m4a version here.

Bass To Splat Your Face

We're just finalising the artwork and sending out the preview copies of Stagga's new Fre-Relase EP due to drop on July 4th (after zwolf's on June 5th), we also have an exclusive remix of an EP track (or rather prequel) for bloggers to put up before hand... however this track isn't it! It's not on the EP either but it should certainly wet your appetites, it's down right monstrous.

A Big Hello From DJ Wool

Love the Timbaland produced original of this from the Kizzaland Mixtape (mixed by Nick Catchdubs). This refix from Berlin's DJ Wool changes the vibe up, turning it into a somewhat brooding Electro House track. More feet to the floor than hands in the air but dope none the less.

If you want to check out Izza Kizza's mixtape can download it for free over here.

Bloody Relationships

RQM just hit us up with this weighty number that flips U2's Bloody Sunday into a glitched up bass tribute to "that toxic Rock N Roll type of relationship that swings on the extremes and burns out quick." Ironically fitting then that he should send it out between Valentines day and Kurt Cobaine's birthday. It's a track he recorded with Robot Koch for Fritz Radio Berlin back in The Tape vs RQM days. Look out for RQM's upcoming releases on OMG! Records and Exploited.
