Doubling Up

The unstoppable Sydney based duo KillaQueenz finally drop their debut album on Grindin this Friday (June 5th).

Sistarhood includes a number of notable guest vocal and production slots from fellow Aussie artists such as Spit Syndicate, Ru C.L., Vida Sunshyne, Katalyst and M-Phazes, but for us the stand out track has to be the lead single which sees the mighty South Rakkas Crew on the beats and British Bashment bad gyal Lady Chann (Suncycle / Yes King) on the hook.

Which also gives us a great excuse to post up a copy of Lady Chann's mixtape which we've been meaning to share with you for a while now, ever since we grabbed it off her twitterings. Also, if you haven't picked up her dangerous UK Funky track Your Eye Too Fast (produced by Sticky) then sort it out. Fiyah indeed!

For some reason these tracks are in wma files except for the outro in m4a but don't watch that.

Lucky For Some

Besides my obvious woefulness at the loss of my girlfriend to the Himalayan peaks for 6 weeks (hey, our Chrome plating isn’t immune to feelings you know), there is an apparent bonus of not being sucked into 2 of Australia’s most caustic exports, Neighbours and Home & Away, for a valuable chunk of my life (I know just leave the room, but the devious little suckers just keep pulling you back in). Instead I shall concentrate on 2 of its finest exports, whom feed off each other in a wonderfully Electro-symbiotic relationship that brings danger to the dancefloor in the most wonderful of ways.

Act Yo Age release their new single Lucky 13 on the Sweat It Out label next week, just in time for Friday the 13th, although the track's more malevolent trickster than straight up evil slasher.

If you haven't picked up KillaQueenz single Bitches on Sweat It Out yet then sort it out. We’ve been rinsing the South Rakkas remix of hard but we’re as equally in love with this Ooh Ee re-rub which is just a touch more fun but no less filthy.

Queenz Bitch

Rappers Belizean Bombshell and Kween G, collectively known as Killa Queenz hail from Belize and Uganda respectively but are now settled in Sydney, Australia where they met whilst performing separately at the Olympic games and now are regularly ripping up stages alongside the likes of Bone Thugs & Harmony, The Alkaholics and Lucky Dube.

They’re just about to drop their new single (out September 9th) on Grindin (also home to Mystro, Foreign Beggars, P Money and Jehst) called ‘Bitches’, an M Phazes produced hyped up Hyphy style dedication to all ‘…the bitches out in the world (both female and male) who have hate in their hearts for no particular reason’. I’m guessing from the girls’ positive stance that this isn’t a track in favour of such people.

Drop Me A Line

Australian DJs Simon Sez & DJ A Style have been ripping it up separately with their Grime, Hip-hop, Baltimore & Bashment sets around their home town of Melbourne and across the world for some time. Simon Sez is the DJ for Aussie Hip-hop crew Justice & Kaos and DJ A Style is a DMC and ITF finalist, but they have now joined forces to create Vinyl Man & Wax Boy – a 4 Turntable Stage Show and remix outfit who have just dropped a phat Baltimore tinged remix of NERD’s ‘Everybody Nose’ called LA Coke Bars.

and here's another slightly more Bassline style from Brooklyn DJ Sammy Bananas...
