Those of you who actually read these posts may remember us mentioning one of our family members called elmono the other day. Well we can now let you know that his 'debut' outing will be the first release on Pinch's new Cold Recordings label and that he shall be playing in the Tectonic hosted Room 2 at Fabric this Friday. For a taster of what to expect, check out his Fabriclive Promo mix below and a mini interview with him over on the Fabric site.

The Numbers front man and all round top DJ / music activist gets his long deserved shot at the FABRICLIVE series.

Although we may be slightly biased due to their support of our family members, the RoboxNeotech label never fails to satisfy, and they’ve smashed it once again with the new EP from Russian/Siberian crew, Demokracy. Like all RoboxNeotech releases there’s the feeling of little machine babies being born and slowly opening their eyes into a strange world of humans. As the track’s name might suggest, it’s cold, like Narnia under the Snow Queen but with a warm sub that heats up your insides from the bottom of the soul to the tip of your strings. This can also be said of the Bass Science remix except he brings elements of mutant rave to the proceedings whilst Monty Clunk come with some drunken cyber-step, puking out circuits like it’s just downed 20 pints of battery acid. All are definitely worth picking up, but the fellas are offering out this moody little low-riding Glitch hop number from Dies Irae as a freebie taster.

Still on a winter vibe, this garage-esque track from Hackman has everything right for the season: Warmth; chills; reflection; depth; stillness; but with a driving pulse that beats a path, full steam to spring. First caught him on Fabric’s (should bloody well be) seminal Elevator compilation and it is they whom are offering this out, along with the information that you may catch him in the club’s Room 3 on Fri Jan 14th alongside such luminaries as Horsepower Productions, El-B, Oris Jay and Seiji.

And finally, as vocalists finally catch onto the fact that producers have been steaming ahead of them on the underground circuit, the latest in a line of ones to watch (and rightly so), Alex Clare is offering up his latest track 'Relax My Beloved', for free download from his Myspace page. This is incredibly heart warming / breaking electronic encased blues and soul stuff and we’re definitely interested to hear the Diplo & Switch produced long player that’s due out on Island this year.

Fabric has always been a benchmark for quality. Their club line ups are pretty much the best in the world and for their Fabriclive mix series, artists make that little bit of extra effort it seems. Their latest release is a compilation which both puts a marker to what is happening right here right now and will continue to do so until everyone else catches up.

Elevator Music could be taken as being something of a play on words. Largely in the Dubstep realm, some of the die hard wobble jump up fiends would indeed view a lot of the tracks here like the sort of easy listening one might find in a lift. Whilst to the music snobs who would sneer at such assumptions, this is music to elevate your mind body and soul.

Although there are some dark and moody moments, we're talking film noir rather than Fangoria and this album is bursting with warmth and energy. Scenic is a word we've possibly over used recently but there's no denying that listening to Elevator Music conjures up electronically generated virtual landscapes of other worlds, or perhaps inner worlds. Rather than being Buddah Bar beach music however, this is more about finding yourself space both on the dancefloor and within the hustle and bustle of the city, not so much escapism as a re-imagination of your surroundings.

Featured artists include the likes of Martyn, Mosca, Julio Bashmore, Doc Daneeka, Untold, Starkey and Shortstuff and the album is available to download now.

With a new Planet Mu album on the way and the killer OK Luv single with Badness doing damage, we expect some big things from Starkey and that whole liquid digi-funk Dubstep sound in general this year. To highlight the case in point of the lion going from strength to strength Fabriclive are moving him up from the usual Room 3 spot to take on Room 1 for the first time on Friday the 15th of January alongside: those legendary Fabric mainstays, Scratch Perverts; Reggae stalwarts,the Trojan Sound System; and the cool and deadly Tayo. They've also sent us this dope 1Xtra mix that was originally broadcast on Redlight's show.

Fabric prove themselves to be the super club to end all once again this Friday with another monumental line up that seems to come as standard for them.

This time it's artists such as Scratch Perverts, Foreign Beggars, Jackbeats, Poirier & MC Zulu, DJ Hype, Mumdance and Badness that might well tempt us down for another visit.

We rolled in force down to Fabric in London on Friday to add some extra legs on the dancefloor for Stagga's set in the Rag & Bone room alongside Raffertie, Kanji Kinetic, noyeahno and Warlock. Some heavy sets from all which pretty much kept us posted in that room except for getting lost on the way to the bar / toilet / smoking area a few times and getting kinda nutty to DJ Hype tearing it down in one of the other rooms.

Next night we touched down at Cardiff's new regular club gathering for all things dutty, electronic and bass heavy, Music By Numbers, which also saw Raffertie's first visit to the city with appearances from the likes of Foamo, Mumdance, Schlacthofbronx, Detboi, Toddla T and Squire Of Gothos all lined up for the future.

As good an excuse as any to post these two recent mixes from the big bouncing ball of banging bonkers beats that is Raffertie. The first was posted on the Fabric First blog as a promo for the night and the other was recorded for Rob Da Bank & Friends on BBC Radio 1 a couple of weeks back.

With a big pot of tribal electronic beats for the streets L-Vis 1990 has just dropped this new mix to warn anyone planning on visiting Fabric in London this Friday (June 5th) that things are going to go off in Room 2 on a monumental scale.

It's something a little different from what we expected after his extremely cheeky bootlegs have found themselves a heavy rotation at Chrome Mansions. Although his dirty and deep UK Funky style is still noticeable in there at some places, there are times when the mix sounds like an Endor forest battle against the Imperial Stormtroopers transplanted to somewhere in the Congo and at others like a full on lunar rave up (in the best possible way of course).

L-Vis 1990 will be rocking Room 2 with Rob Da Bank & Friends, which also sees Tim Exile and Beardyman doing their thing, whilst the likes of Sinden and Toddla T tear up Room 1.
