With their 'Culture' EP riding high on the playlists of Skream, Gilles Peterson, FaltyDL, Machinedrum and Rob Da Bank amongst many others, we shall forgive Bodhi for missing a month in their monthly Groove Series (they did slip out a Mixmag mix instead to be fair). This is another killer mix of Housey, Garagey vibes from the boys, much in keeping with its name.

Snowbombing 2011 Mix by djcable

As a spot of promo for my upcoming gig with Yasmin in Austria on Monday, I decided to put together an exclusive Snowbombing mix, containing a bunch of upfront Grime, Dubstep and Hip Hop tracks, as well as the odd classic. It contains some of the tracks used in January's Annie Nightingale mix, but with a lot more scratching this time around!

Our amigette Ghettozoid hit us up with this Valentines mix she did for her group Bubbz & The Black Notez, yes we realise that if you're in the UK Valentines only has about 35 minutes left and in some places it's done and dusted but posting now kind of accentuates the fact that this mix is far too good to be tied down to just one day. However it is also great if you happen to be tied down right now (see what we did there) so fire up the speakers and get ready for this freaky fun mix that is a far more considerate gift than chocolates and roses, who says we don't love you.

So, here's a quick mix that I put together for this year's Valentines Day.

Rather than do another generic Slow Jams mix, this time around I've selected a bunch of love-themed Dubstep & Grime tunes (yes, they do exist!), alongside a healthy dose of misogynistic Hip Hop & Booty Bass in the latter half of the mix, plus a cheeky bootleg, and some material that's forthcoming on Triangulum!

The result? A mish mash of everything from JME, to Wiley, Three 6 Mafia, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, DJ Assault, Necro, Dizzee Rascal, Borgore, Ruckspin, Chromeo and more!

Now I love that future, intelligent, deep, 'post' Dubstep sound as much as the next man but every now and then you just want to load up the iPod with a bunch of Thugstep tunes and go swaggering into the local supermarket doing trolley drive-bys with a pack of baby bells (is that just me?). Always taking things one step further, High Rankin uses rather ungentlemanly tactics in his latest beatdown by kicking you in the face whilst your down on the floor laughing. Bastard. The punches come thick and fast too but to perhaps soften the blow or maybe as the coup de grace on his UFC style mix, he is giving away the first track here as a free download. It's not quite a consolatory pint but it does make the big man come off as a fairly decent chap. Kinda like Nino Brown giving away free turkeys at Christmas in New Jack City... oh yeah he's also re-launching his label Suicide Dub with a compilation of his dodgy mates. The music's amazing but you wouldn't want them round your nan's house.

We've been running round like a bunch of mad March hares for the last month or so and we've taken our eye off the ball a few times. Laced with future funk, deep uptempo grooves and a touch of fried filth this is guaranteed to put your emotions on spin cycle; next we have a promo mix from SkisM from the Never Say Die crew who are dropping some seriously scorching remixes of the Foreign Beggars & Noisia track No Holds Barred by Excision and Affinity, and if that wasn't enough the release also includes remixes of Get A Bit More from Baobinga, Demus & Randomplay and SkisM; and also on the promo tip are the guys from Pipedown who are putting on a helluva line up of exciting artists this Wednesday at the Rhythm Factory including James Blake, Om Unit, Greena and Elijah & Skilliam. It’s about time I hit you with another mixtape. Rock The Dub has been pivotal in both pushing the Thugstep sound, and inspiring DJs such as myself to get involved, so it was only right that we teamed up to put out a mix for the end of 2009. Things got even better when Jenai over at Ego Thieves got involved (props for the artwork!).

The end result? A heavy mix of Dubstep/Grime/Crunk, with some exclusive refixes, as well as the ones you know and love...

Whether you love it or hate it, THUGSTEP is here to stay. Forgive me if I sound big headed, but I’ve seen the damage that it can do in rave; and with numerous DJs across the London scene and the UK supporting my blends, it’s great to see people embrace this type of sound. I'm sure DJ Nappy would be proud.

Shouts to Discobelle for giving me the opportunity to do a mix for their Mixin' It Up series, which has been graced by loads of other great DJs such as Bok Bok, Dave Nada and Drop The Lime, to name a few...If you don't know about Discobelle, they're one of the internet's leading dance music blogs, and have been highly influential when it comes to breaking new music.

For this mix, I decided to go with a selection of Dubstep & Grime tracks (both old and new) that I’m into at the moment, accompanied with a tiny bit of scratching here and there; Nothing too intricate though, as I wanted the tunes to speak for themselves.

As we abstained from last Monday's Mixtape session due to political reasons we have made up for it by giving you a bumper addition this week which includes: our very own Quantum cadet, Monkey with a Dubstep selection he mixed up for 3zee1's show on Sub FM last week; a Take Flight Club mix from Doc Daneeka, who we first came across through his nights at the Monkey Bar in Swansea although we didn't make the link to his latest alias when we first heard Metabeats dropping some of his UK Funkier than though tracks recently; next is Metabeats' Darkhouse Family bredren Don Leisure with the first of a new monthly mix series, dropping some seriosuly tasty Liquid Soul and Future Hip-hop. We then hop over to South Africa as Liver gives us a homegrown mini mix selection from Cape Town and finally, a firm favourite of ours and the first to actually introduce us to Liver, Boom Monk Ben with a killer selection, something of a fusion of all the other mixes in one handy helping.

This hyper than hype jump up party mix from Micky Slim is getting us well geared up for some good ol' fashioned wrong doing this Halloween at Shout Out Loud's Dance Of The Dead in Cardiff, where we shall be joining, not only the twisted Slimster himself but also the likes of Ms Dynamite, Toddla T & Serocee, Mumdance, A1 Bassline, Squire Of Gothos (whose mix we brought you yesterday), Baobinga, Oneman and Detoboi so you know that's some serious throw ya drinks in the air, dancefloor destroying freakiness of the highest order.

There's no tracklisting for the mix unfortunately but it includes the new Chew Fu and Wiley, Major Lazer, Jack Beats, Count & Sinden, Enigma & Shorterz' Dubstep remix of RIP Groove and the MRK 1 remix of Micky's new track Skank Out with Virus Syndicate which is huuuuge!

The guys over at Take Flight Club just posted this scrumptiously filthy mix from bass munching dirt flinger Cookie Monsta, all his own productions from the dark back alleys of Sesame Street where Big Bird makes a sideline in Amsterdam animal freak porn, the Count is running numbers and Oscar's so strung out he's gone from grouchy to damn near homicidal. We're coming at you BIG for this Monday Mixtape session, no hiding out in the VIP section or in the Basement this is strictly main room madness. Still that's not to say we're munching on cheese sandwiches, there's more than a fair flood of filth in each mix and what really shines through is the marriage, or at least firm f**k buddying, of Dubstep and Hip-hop that is getting more and more incestuous by the minute. It's also good to see Stagga cropping up in each of these. We kick off with two of our solid favourite phat track flingers and end with some new blood. Look out for a Monday Mixtape special next week from.... us.

Firstly Troublemaker shows off his finely tuned party startin' skills with some neck snapping favourites mixed up with exclusive acapellas and guest appearances from a slew of emcees, such as Adam Tensta, Hollywood Holt, Micah James, Naptron and The 87 Stick Up Kids; secondly, not only has George Lenton proved to be one of our favourite producers of the past few months but he could well prove to be one of our favourite DJs to, with an excellent new journey through the dirty world of bass. Lastly we have a relative newcomer to the blog, LDFD kicks off with relentlessly big productions before easing your eardrums and opening your braincells ready for the week ahead. Not quite as slick as the other two but some fine selections nonethless.
