Smak Ma Bitch Up

Like many young people his age, Rustie has an unhealthy taste in bland saccharin RnB singers. Luckily for him he's using the well founded therapy of creating something good from the bad, or is it rather the opposite and infact he's created something nasty as hell from the nice and sweet? We're not entirely sure whether it's Keyshia, Ke$ha Keisha or even erm Keisha, or some strange hybrid of them all but either way they get a Rhianna style beat down from the Glasweigan baller.

Something For The Twisted Kids

Seems wrong to give out presents on your own birthday but that's just what 4 year old Scottish What's On Oracle The Skinny and the sprightly 1 year old Ten Tracks (website bringing you 10 tracks for a pound... bargain) are doing. They've got a big bag of bass from the fellas over at LuckyMe that they're giving away. Download the full selection here and if you're in the area make sure you reach their Twisted Birthday Party this Saturday (see flyer for details). Here's a few of our choice cuts from 2 of the LuckyMe members and Lunice from Montreal.

Downloads:

Dema - 10000000 / alt link

Mike Slott - 23 Halfs / alt link

Lunice - One Of Me / alt link

Speaking of Lunice, we hooked up with him alongside fellow Turbo Crunker Hovatron in Berlin and shamefully didn't get an interview. To make up for this hangover induced oversight, here's a whole bunch of Lunice remixes, plus you can check an exclusive new Hovatron track on our next mixtape dropping Monday.

Pick up the whole package here or check out a couple of our choice cuts below.

Clipse - Fast Life (Lunice Remix) / alt link

Daedelus - Assembly Lines (Lunice Remix) / alt link

And another remix not on this compilation of hyper cool new blog darlings The xx

Bleeding Glasvegas

Always rather a contentious issue when artists put 'featuring' artists they've just simply sampled, but then is it really all that bad? The initial feeling is that it is a collaboration that both are aware of and have put effort into. However alot of the time 'legitimite' collaborations are simply cooked up by record companies and artists are blissfully unaware of the other's previous existence. It has also been common practice for artists to demand 'featured' status for the use of a sample - i.e. Joni Mitchell on Janet Jackson's Got Til It's Gone, Junior Reid on The Game's One Blood and Dido on Eminem's Stan are a few bigger ones off the top of the head. This is of course because it is beneficial to them, but why should cash be the deciding factor on it? If a Bronx rapper wants to say his tune features a Glaswegian Indie Rock band then, and essentially it does, who are we to argue. And saying that, who really gives a flying f**k if Glasvegas are aware of this fact anyway, certainly not June.

Get With The Style

I'm half tempted to write something really wanky and rather offensive in its racial stereotyping such as 'these tracks carry the full frontal force of a Glasgow kiss with perfectly precise execution blah blah something about a samurai sword' due to the fact that DJ P.O.L. Style hails from Glasgow but is now rooted deep in the Tokyo scene where he is flying the flag for B'more and other related party Bass styles with his Numbers and Tonight events plus releases on Tittsworth & Ayres' T&A Records and the excellent Dress 2 Sweat label, based out of his home town...and because he makes the kind of music that carry the full frontal force of a Glasg... okay you get the idea, let's not go there.

However there are certainly no punches pulled in his interpretation of the music which verges on Ghettotech at times in its relentless party posturing designed to drag you kicking and screaming onto the dancefloor. This is just a taster but look out for more phunked up as f**k releases coming soon on the labels we just mentioned.

plus here's a remix he did for the Tokyo Electro crew Gaines which features Teki Latex from TTC
