We couldn't let these slip by without posting. FlyLo, HudMo, PauLo and Kendrick.
None of us have fully recovered from the launch party of Snowskull's new online enriched arts project (and our first official release in a long time). Ridiculous fun was had in Cardiff that night, and for some nights afterwards, not to mention the incredible sets from Jauge, Blured, Dubs, Owls and Daniel Avery.
The release is the soundtrack to Snowskull's exhibition and was created by some of the above alongside Snowskull himself. There's a link to the music below but you'd be foolish not to experience the whole exhibition 'All Great Thoughts Are Conceived By Walking'.
Also XLR8R are giving away a free instrumental copy of the Snowskull & Jauge track.
We've just been told there are but a few tickets remaining for one of our favourite annual parties and this year the whole Chrome Kids family shall be there as we host the Bank Holiday Sunday in the 'Was I There?' room of Troyfest at Baskerville Hall which takes place from Friday 3rd to Monday 6th May.
As I said the whole family shall be repping with...
Stagga
Bodhi
elmono
Kaptin Is Dead
SnowSkull
Falcon Lake
Jauge
all playing plus on our line up we also have...
Mr Healan
Blured
Ratcatcher
The Kreamy Kat
Mr Ben
Basically our room is ridiculously tight with undoubtedly some of the finest talent that Wales has to offer. Not to be outdone though Delete who are hosting the Saturday night have some tasty House DJs for you too with some of our favourites alongside the cream of Welsh residents and a headline slot from Jeremy Underground Paris.
Jeremy Underground Paris (My Love Is Underground)
Chesus aka Earl Jeffers (CRST / Darkhouse Fam / Metabeats)
The Organ Grinder
Clare James
Andrew Hill
Matt Owen
Lee Graves
Marc Parsons
Dave Little
Joey P
Soul Rebel
Rikki Humphrey
James Christopher and Scott Mantle
Dave Llewellyn
Ryan Housemasters Brown
Plus there are tons of other incredible party bands and DJs, for the price and size of the festival it's pretty damn impressive. For the whole line up check their website. If you're real quick you might even snatch those last few tickets. Trust us last year was serious fun with the friendliest crowd ever... and this year the line up is that much better.
Those of you who actually read these posts may remember us mentioning one of our family members called elmono the other day. Well we can now let you know that his 'debut' outing will be the first release on Pinch's new Cold Recordings label and that he shall be playing in the Tectonic hosted Room 2 at Fabric this Friday. For a taster of what to expect, check out his Fabriclive Promo mix below and a mini interview with him over on the Fabric site.
Individually, our boys Stagga & Monky are two of the country's finest producers. Together they're insane... literally. Before Monky finally drops his lifelong moniker to become elmono, the pair have released a new 4 track EP of bass heavy, glitched up goodness. In Stagga's words "its a bit mental but does have its more soft and romantic moments."
Well looks like we've got a load of catching up to do in regards to the Bodhi boys, can't keep up with them! So just in case you haven't been keeping an eye, here's a few things they've been up to recently.
First of all is their new single 'Culture / Deliquesce' on Sinden's 'Grizzly' label which dropped this week along with this video for 'Culture'. The video is a collaboration with Chrome Kids resident artiste, Snowskull and the EP itself has been getting some major love from the likes of Skream, FaltyDL, Giles Peterson, Machinedrum and Rob Da Bank (who has booked them for his incredible Bestival festival which we rocked a Chrome Kids set at a couple of years back).
Then of course there's this free download from XLR8R of the Bambanou remix. There's also a wicked Ifan Dafydd remix which you might have caught on our last Radio Show.
Finally there's this mix they cooked up for Mixmag, who gave a glowing review to the EP (big ups to Joe Muggs).
I'm sure there's something we've missed but that should keep you lot busy for now.
He might be the silent partner on the Chrome Kids Radio Show but as well as being a damn fine artist, Snowskull is one of the family's true musical connoisseurs. Here he compiles his Top 10 Tunes for 2012.
John Talabot - So Will Be Now
Session Victim - The Haunted House
Bwana - Baby Let Me Finish(Black Orange Juice Remix)
Rumpistol & Red Baron - Anywhere

Also, if you missed Kaptin's end of year Reflection Selection, check it here.
Kaptin Is Dead - Reflections 2012 by Kaptinisdead on Mixcloud
We haven't done any 'best of' this year but Kaptin has put together a 'reflection selection' for 2012. Here's what he said about it.
"As I enter the final stages of the roller coaster ride that was 2012 I've left little time to consider a 'best of mix' really, with such a good year for music it might possibly last til 2014 anyway. However whilst in Studio 2 of Radio Cardiff I put together this selection of tunes that owe more to the reflective nature of the year's end. No fancy mixing or tricks just some incredible tunes from 2012 played pretty much in their entirety. Hope you enjoy them as much as I have."

Actually the Tensnake remix of Ritual Union came out in 2011 but we'll let him off this once because it was still a great tune in 2012.

Here's a proper THUGSTEP mix from the architect, Disc Jockey Nappy - not just a grip of Hip-Hop acapellas over Dubstep tracks, but the mindset that comes across when you hear "Tupac Back" mixed into some Eddie K, or the debauchery that commences when UFO! refixes some haunting Tyler the Creator tracks.
Disc Jockey Nappy - VULGAR (Mix) by djnappy
Loads of anthems thrown in here, with dubstep refixers/producers including Spinstyles, Dioxin and DJ Fusion bringing these tracks to new heights, alongside bits from DJ Drama, Young Jeezy, Curly Castro and more.

The Radio show's had a bit of a break over Christmas and New Year but was due to start back up tonight. However there's a problem down at the studio so we won't be back til next week. By then there will probably be a whole new set of tunes to play so here's what we would have played tonight!
The opening to the Bossasaurus album, which we figured would have also been a good first tune for the show, definitely feels like the introduction to something epic.
1. Bossasaurus-Space Renaissance by Bossasaurus
Next up was supposed to be a couple of DVA tunes: 'Still Born' from the 'Afro Cuban EP', a B Side for Manchester artist GuGu’s release on DVA Records due out on 10th January; and his remix of Bad Autopsy's ‘Ginmixer’ which is out now on red and gold vinyl via RAMP, limited to just 200 copies. Get yours here.
Bad Autopsy - GINMIXER (Scratcha DVA Remix) by RAMP Recordings / PTN
Next up a deep rolling sea of synths on this Dubstep / Glitch hop track from Ooah’s PANTyRAID partner in crime, MartyParty’s excellent 'Skukuza' album.
This stunning track is from a new free release that Blue Daisy passed us from his amigos ▽nknown ShΔpes. Apparently the ‘If I Should Die EP’ was recorded in just 2 days, but it’s certainly no rush job. If they have this kind of solid output in such a short time we can’t wait to see what they pull out of the bag next, definitely ones to watch for the future!

After their reworking of 'Genik Riddim', HavocNDeed have hooked up with Skamma & Joe Blow from the Squid Ninjaz crew once again for this strictly VIP track. Not sure if this is going to get a proper release or not but it’s killer for sure. Of course the version we were going to play would have been radio friendly, this isn’t!
We were then going to play a new Stagga track called 'Annihilating Riddim', but you’ll just have to wait until next week for that one, but trust us it’s another huge one.
On a more mellow tip, it’s tricky to pick just one track off James Blake’s debut album but we were going to go with this beauty.
Another deep, mellow, male vocal track, this time from Westernsynthetics. Not sure when it came out but someone passed us a copy of the May Day Radio album recently and this track struck us instantly. Actually gives us a chance to post the video now too which is also stunning.
Was going to drop the Monkey & Stagga produced track Chillski from the forthcoming Juakali EP but not got a clean version so opted for this Tes La Rok Remix of Freak You Back from the same release.
We still haven’t got round to playing this Skinnz track and we might not get the chance now but it’s definitely something you should all hear if you haven’t already. Quite a juxtaposition of the title and it’s corresponding sample with the sunshine soaked synths which would probably lift the most destitute dude up out the ‘gutta’.
Only just caught the free AC (aka AC Slater) & Dell album 'Right Now' that Мишка released but it’s got some great tracks on there. Picked this one cos it didn’t have swearing in and we love the Dubstep / Future Garage vibe on it.
Still not 100% sure about this track which came out today., we love Maverick Sabre and Prof. Green makes some decent tracks from time to time but there’s something about the two together that grates slightly. Maybe it’s because they both sound like they recorded the track with pegs on their noses. We reckon it might be a grower still though..
Actually went to the launch of the ‘Scientist Launches Dubstep Into Outer Space' in Fabric but got there late and missed everyone’s set except Mala (who absolutely tore the place down). Not played anything off the album on the show before though so figured we’d drop this.
And that would have been the show. Hopefully you would have enjoyed it as well. We shall return to Radio Cardiff next Monday at 9pm as usual. 98.7fm if you’re in the Cardiff area or http://radiocardiff.org if not.
Mixcloud wouldn't upload this week's show for some reason so here tis on Soundcloud. Special Guest Mix this week from Monky.

For anyone heading over to Bestival for the Weekend we shall be rocking the Chai Wallah tent on Thursday at 6.30pm and then Bestival Radio at 10pm on Saturday. We're taking Astroid Boys with us too so prepare for a hyper than hype set and some serious festival tomfoolery afterwards. As always the line up is second to none with headline slots from The Prodigy, Dizzee Rascal and Flaming Lips, however we're more small tent frequenters,so just as well there's plenty of crazy little off the wall areas to discover. Although we're a bit anti planning when it comes to festivals choosing to discover stuff by chance, some of our friends, family and favourites are all there so you might well catch us checking out some of these acts.

Following on from his Drunkerdz single, our man Monky has a new EP out on Robox Neotech called A Thought which is the proverbial piss that rains down on anybody who attempts to make tunes without first processing their thought pattern through a quantum head space like our Chrome compadre... in other words this is the business! And so to celebrate Monky is giving away this free non-EP track, which Radio 1 new music Guru and Bestival Head Honcho, Rob Da Bank quite rightly said is "friggin' wicked."
Monky has also been chatting to Baobinga over at Bass Music Blog about music and other general madness. Plus he's provided them with a cracking new mix as well.
