Remember that scene in Blade Runner where Daryll Hannah starts flipping out and nearly f**ks Rutger Hauer into oblivion, saving Harrison Ford a shed load of hassle? No nor do we but something tells me that’s what happens in the ‘Ghettozoid Director’s re-cut’ and this is the soundtrack to that very scene. Vangelis would probably be crying into his synthesiser if he heard this... or not. This is driving robo-booty bass music of the highest order and is out next week on One4Ho.

On the flip side evil genius Silverman has taken control of the 'Boy Toy' and has pushed it to the limits so it’s bordering on malfunction. It seems like he’s trying to use it to take over the planet, and he might just succeed.

Our amigette Ghettozoid hit us up with this Valentines mix she did for her group Bubbz & The Black Notez, yes we realise that if you're in the UK Valentines only has about 35 minutes left and in some places it's done and dusted but posting now kind of accentuates the fact that this mix is far too good to be tied down to just one day. However it is also great if you happen to be tied down right now (see what we did there) so fire up the speakers and get ready for this freaky fun mix that is a far more considerate gift than chocolates and roses, who says we don't love you.

She also dropped us off her new single 'Boy Toy' which will have a vinyl release on One4Ho on March 7th, we shall be reporting back soon as we've had a butchers.

I first heard the Silverman track Can’t Stand The Rain at Pinch’s Dubloaded night in Bristol a few months back. Ghettozoid was spinning it and I remember getting lost inside its rolling tribal drums, warm electronic mist and melancholy Peebles sample. These days it’s rare that I’ll ask about a certain tune or I’d be hassling the DJ all night but this one I had to know. Ironically it was to be due for release on Ghettozoid’s newly launched One4Ho label and now here it is.

This tune has been receiving play from the likes of Falty DL, Starkey and Clark, who also provides a soul crunching remix that seems to flip the original track’s concept of memory, love and loss into a 3 and a half minute masterpiece of dream like emotional manipulation.

The EP is out on One4Ho on August 1st

We've been loving the first release due to drop on One4Ho, a new label from Mai Harper and Sophie Ruston (aka Ghettozoid). The track from Ghettozoid herself is called Seeking and is on some future garage space age flex, carrying some serious sonic depth with a fairly sinister bassline rumbling out out like a school of whales floating through the sonar system, whilst our favourite Bristolian diva Yolanda manages to add both upliftment and melancholoy, as she effortlessly stretches her rich soul vocals to the outer reaches of the universe.

Our favourite mix however is from Blue Daisy with a tripped out excursion, building up a bed of a crisp static crunch and dublike echoes. As if the tune had been dropped into a K hole and managed to float around in it without confusion, paranoia or looking like a complete c**t.
