Beware Of Sharks In The Watered

Sway just 'leaked' this track he's done with Toddla T, Benga and JLS. Sitting close to the wrong side of the 1Xtra tracks at times still but it sounds like Mr Dasafo is finally getting back to a form we know and love. Just wish he'd take his eye of the chart, he works so much better underground.

Skreaming Toddlas

Toddla T hit us up with this Skream remix for the first single being released on the Girls Music label which he's set up with Raf Rundell. The track from T Willy sounds like it might also have Benjamin Zephaniah on a poetry tip but we can't seem to find any evidence of that apart from the fact it sounds like it. Speaking of unqualified assumptions, I'm also starting to think Toddla T is actually Skream's cheeky Northern alter ego. Despite having met both of them on a few occasions and them not really being anything alike, and having no evidence to support this and no reason for thinking it at all, but the voices don't lie and when all is revealed you just wait... okay it's been a long month.

Big Basslines, Bigger Thrills

Having been out to a string of average, apathetic and just plain empty nights of late it is refreshing that there are nights such as Bigger Than Barry to restore our faith that the party proper still exists. We hit their night at The Rainbow Warehouse in Birmingham a couple of weeks ago and had a great time, secret special guests came in the shape of Toddla T (whose firing set instigated a mosh pit) and Annie Mac who brought along the beautiful, bashy and blazing hot Lady Chann on mic duty... you know a night's going well when you can afford to keep guests like these a secret. Elsewhere the likes of Doorly and Tomb Crew tore it up whilst Scarlet Harlots proved themselves to be one of the best young indie rock (for want of better pigeon-holing) bands on the circuit.

Anyway, part of the reason these guys know how to put on a top class night is they have their ears finely tuned to the dancefloor, and they are now putting their learned lugholes to further use by starting up a label. We don't have much info on it but we do have these Dubstep reworkings of some 2 Step classics to give you courtesy of the BTB boys. These tracks have already been getting support from all of the DJs we mentioned.

Thrills has hit us with a bunch of new hype tracks plus a brand new second installment of Dubstep refixes in a handy half hour mix. The firin' Bassline single Go is out on Sub Philo Music soon with remixes from the likes of Taz Buckfaster, Tony Rocky Horror and Zeppy Zep and has been getting Radio 1 play from Kissy Sell Out.

Some of you may have caught this guy in our latest chart, but we have a couple more tracks to give away from Polish producer Spox, whose background in the Warsaw Hip-hop and Free Party scenes probably helps to endear him to our ears, although both of these tracks are on a Dubstep tip with an Old Skool Rave twist.

Videos Roll On Hard Grimes

We might not be the biggest Bashy fans here but with Toddla T on production this track is killing it hard, even if he has forgotten there's a recession on.

Okay so maybe the recession hasn't hit the streets hard enough yet, Choong Family don't seem to have noticed it either, feeling this beat though.

Now this track's more like it. The best things in life are most definitely FR3E. Course I'm sure he'd also appreciate you buying the single when it drops on 1st June through We Make Ent.

It's Sheer Bedlam In Cardiff

Bedlam bring another massive line up to Cardiff which includes our very own Monkey & Stagga. It’s rare that promoters are brave enough to put on line ups like this in the city so this night needs to be supported to make sure it continues. These few tunes should give you an idea of who we shall definitely be checking out on the night.

The name kinda says it all with this one, Mad Professor trying to fly the Tardis on Ketamine.

(YSI) Stagga – Time Warp Dub

This one will make you skank so low you might bounce your head off the floor.

(YSI) Stagga – Rockin Down The House Dub

There's something magical and mystical about this one, the subtlest of the Eastern flavours in this selection.

(YSI) Monkey – Sometimes

When Peter Tosh says 'move ya bumbaclart' you don't really have a choice once the beat comes rollin back in.

(YSI) Monkey – Wots A Boombaclart

How convenient to have them both on the same track.

(YSI) The Black Ghosts – Some Way Through This (Plastician & Skream Remix)

High Rankin has managed to breath some new life into this one, kinda like Frankenstein and his monster.

(YSI) Chase & Status – Eastern Jam (High Rankin 100% Unofficial Remix)

A great take on the track with a Brass Band providing the music.

(YSI) Riz MC – Eastern Jam

This was originally supposed to appear on Eastern Drum and Breakz Vol 2 but was just too damn heavy compared to the rest of the album. check out his more laid back Don Leisure alter ego as well.

(YSI) Jamal – Knowledge

Toddla T is definitely the new king of Rudeboy Electro styles. This has got that classic UK Garage feel.

(YSI) Toddla T & Serocee – Manabadman

These Menabadmen

Toddla T just sent out this killer Bassline refix of his track Manbadman by Radio 1's Andy George

(ZShare) Toddla T ft Serocee - Manabadman (Andy George Refix)

Plus speaking of Andy George his Jump & Twist track with Scott Cooper has also had a bit of a re-rub from Canadian Bmore / electro warriors Jokers Of The Scene.
